Chinese wholesales regularly copy photographs from legitimate manufacturers websites and catalogues, they then go on to advertise and sell these items on eBay and on there own websites and portraying these dresses as there own. The difference is that these manufactures only have the pictures they have stolen from official distributors to make the dresses. They are not legitimate manufacturers and therefore they don’t have the legitimate designers patterns and instructions on how the dress should be made. That means that they have no idea of the correct methods needed to make the dress and no idea of the little intricacies and finishing touches that are required to make the dress look and feel like the picture they are advertising. This means; They have no idea how to heavy the material is in order to make the dress lay right, they can only guess. They have no idea of the actual lengths of trains and skirts they can only estimate judging by the pictures. A lot of time they can’t see the actual patterns involved in the beading and embroidery so they make it up. They can’t see the inside of the dress so they don’t know what lining and boning is required to give the dress its shape. And this is why the dresses are cheaper, because they don't use the approved material, embellishments, boning and lining. In essence, they are by no means the same dress as in the photograph. The fact that you ordered a red beaded dress and you received a red beaded dress means that your are not eligible for a refund, even if the beading is falling off and the hem is wonky. Long and short of it is, if you pay peanuts then you will get monkeys. So if you want to be a disaster on the dance floor or look like the bride of Frankenstein at your own wedding then please use a Chinese wholesaler. How To Measure
How It Works Step One - You order this dress via Ebay. Step Two - When you go to pay for it, in the box marked send message to seller you list out your colour choice and measurements e.g waist = 31 inches, Colour = Pink. Step Three - Within 24 hours of receiving your payment and measurements we will send you a pack confirming the dress you have chosen, the colour you have selected and your measurements for you to sign and send back to us either as an e-mail attachment or in the prepaid envelope provided. Step Four - Once we have received your signed specification we will start work on your dress. Step 5 - In 40-60 days your dress will be delivered to your doorstep.

I brought a dress from Sylvia's
for my wedding in Jan 2011and the dress fit almost close
to perfect with the measurements I gave. I had the
straps slightly amended when the dress arrived because
it was slightly lower in the front than I expected when
I tried it on. Other than that I was extremely happy
with how well the dress was made. The train was
detachable which was perfect to take off for our
reception. They were fast with shipping and were
excellent with all their communication and updates. I
would definitely recommend them. Measure yourself
correctly with a bit extra space more than anything. Our
dressmaker who shortened the straps for me was impressed

The dress arrived quickly, in
mint condition. Excellent craftsmanship, absolutely no
regrets! Everyone is blown away by the gorgeous,
intricate detailing. You will not be disappointed. I am

While my dress took a while to
arrive, when it did, i fell in love with it! I wore it
to my prom and got soo many compliments on it. Because I
brought a wedding dress instead of a prom dress I did
need to have it altered a bit because the train was
quite long but the seamstress added a small button to
the back so it could be bustled because the train was
too gorgeous to remove completely! the bead work was

It can be stressful to buy a
dress over the internet because you can't try a dress on
before you buy it but I think if you don't want to pay
the big bucks in the boutique's for something unique
then it is worth while. I have brought several items
from Sylvias of London and I can tell you that if you
get someone else to measure you twice over (someone with
dress making experience is best) and remember that you
body can change in the 1-2 months before it arrives so
it may not fit 100% perfect when it arrives. And order
it early so you have enough time to get it altered if
you need to then you will be fine. In one of my cases I
had to have the straps altered because it was too low
cut once it had arrived and I tried it on. Hope this

I ordered my dress and it took
just over 5 weeks to arrive.The only thing I didn't care
for was the straps it had (shoe string) so I took a pair
of scissors and carefully cut them off. As soon as I did
that we all thought wow! It fit perfectly and I had so
many compliments asking were I bought it Shipping And Returns Policy Once your dress is completed we will double check that it meets all of your specifications and then package it up to be sent to you via recorded delivery. Once it has left our premises we will contact you to let you know and send you the tracking number so you can monitor its journey from our UK head office to your door. Because we custom make all of our dresses from scratch, we do not keep anything in stock and therefore we cannot offer anything on a fast turn around. All of our dresses take between 40-60 days to create and send to you. In some cases dresses may be finished quicker than estimated and will be sent to you as soon as they are completed however, we cannot guarantee that your gown will be completed any quicker than 40-60 days. We will update you with an estimated delivery schedule as soon as we have started work on your dress. If your dress is for a specific date and you are unsure as to if it will be completed on time, please contact us before purchase for guidance. If for any reason, your order is not shipped within the time stated and arrives late, we are happy to give you a 100% refund including postage once the dress has been returned to us (at our cost) providing that the dress is in its original condition - unworn, unwashed, unaltered, undamaged, clean, free of lint and hair and with tags intact and attached. However, we will always offer you a 30% refund if you decide to keep the dress even though it has arrived late. All of our dresses are well packaged and are sent to you in a manner which is deemed to be safe and secure. Upon the arrival of your dress, we encourage you to check and make sure that the dress has been made to your order specifications. Try on your dress as soon as possible without removing the tags, altering, or washing the dress. As all of our dresses are hand-sewn and custom tailored, the finished gown may vary by approximately one (1) inch in either direction of the specified measurements. This is not an error, it is something which can happen during the dress making process. As this is the case our tailors have created all our dresses with additional fabric in the seams to allow minor size modifications to be made easily by a local tailor of your choosing if you feel it is necessary. If your dress differs to your specified measurements by less than one (1) inch in either direction you can have minor adjustments made at a local tailor, at your own cost and no refund is available in this case. If your dress size differ from the specifications of your order by more than one (1) inch, we encourage you to find a local tailor to make adjustments, and we will gladly reimburse you 100% of the tailoring costs of up to 50% of the cost of the original dress. If you choose this option, please take photographs of the area in question which is more than one (1) inch larger or smaller than you requested with a tape measure to demonstrate the measurement issue and send it to us along with a copy of the receipt from your tailor. Any dress that does not fit properly but is to the measurements you provided cannot be returned or refunded under any circumstances. We provide pictures of our fabric and colour swatches for you to view on your computer screen. The settings of your computer screen may alter the colour of the pictures we provide slightly. Slight colour mismatches between the colour of your dress and the colour shown on screen does not mean that the dress is wrong. However, if you are confident that you have received the item in a wrong colour (for example you ordered white but received red), please contact us with a photograph of the dress and your order number so that we can look into it further. If it is discovered that we have made an error we are happy to give you a 100% refund including postage once the dress has been returned to us (at our cost) providing that the dress is returned to us in its original condition - unworn, unwashed, unaltered, undamaged, clean, free of lint and hair and with tags intact and attached. However, we will always offer you a 30% refund if you decide to keep the dress even though it is the wrong colour. The dress arrived slightly
quicker than stated and was absolutely beautiful and
just like the picture. Very well made and good quality
fabric etc. ~Colour was spot on the colour on the
website. My daughter wore it to her prom and looked
amazing in it. I Had to have it adjusted very slightly
as she measured herself and got it slightly wrong but
the shop that did this also commented on how well the
